The Curtis Plan:

  • We must immediately confirm our commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement, and join the rest of the world in decreasing carbon emissions and ensuring that we make long-term adjustments to mitigate our effect on climate change.
  • We must commit to reversing President Trump’s attacks on science and ecology, and restore proper management of the EPA to experts in the field.
  • We must commit to clean air and water. Regulations that have been removed by this administration have already had a substantial impact on our air and water quality.
  • We must commit to technologies such as electric vehicles, solar roofing, and clean energy, as that commitment will protect our environment and lead to growth in our economy.

Our environment is our most precious resource. Southern Indiana is known for its state parks, national forests, and lakes and rivers. We enjoy these recreationally and esthetically, and we must protect them for generations to come.

Clean air and water are crucial for healthy lives, and we have made tremendous progress towards those goals. Limiting asthma attacks from polluted air reduces health care costs and the suffering of individuals. Providing clean water for boating and fishing, and for our own consumption is a good thing–we should not waver in that.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, from Indiana University. I have the utmost appreciation for the delicate nature of our environment. We must respond to the threats posed by climate change. We must protect our rivers, streams, and forests. As humans, we are stewards for the earth; it is our duty to take care of it. Join me in making a commitment to the health of our planet!
